B. Work-in-progress: Una propuesta bien estructurada de unas 1000 palabras (a doble espacio en tamaño de letra 12) que incluya el propósito, la metodología y el enfoque utilizados para llevar a cabo el estudio, las conclusiones, las limitaciones que ha seguido el curso de la investigación y sus implicaciones, señalando además la originalidad y las aportaciones más destacadas del análisis. También incluirá las referencias pertinentes (bibliografía, etcétera). En caso de incluir tablas o figuras, han de ir situadas en el apéndice, tras la bibliografía.
C. Ponencia o comunicación con posibilidades de publicarse como artículo: Las investigaciones que se envíen con el fin de editarse con formato de artículos deben ser totalmente originales, y no han de estar publicados ni aceptados para su publicación ni tan siquiera bajo consideración de publicación en ningún otro lugar. Los autores deben limitar sus propuestas iniciales a unas 20 o 25 páginas aproximadamente, escritas a doble espacio, con letra en tamaño 12, con los márgenes normales que ofrece el ordenador por defecto, incluyendo todos los materiales pertinentes (bibliografía, figuras, tablas, apéndices, etcétera). Los artículos completos han de incluir referencias académicas concisas y pertinentes. las directrices del autor. Si los artículos no tienen el formado adecuado, no serán ni considerados ni revisados por AHLIST.

“Crossing the Border: Encounters between Cultures and Disciplines”
Current societies face a great challenge to assimilate the rapid growth of globalization. Throughout centuries cross-cultural encounters between civilizations enriched the culture of nations by adding new elements in the sphere of the economy, religion, politics, culture, languages, science and technology. The conference will explore how crossing borders, physically and mentally, despite difficulties and setbacks, produce positive outcomes in numerous fields. The historical encounter between Europeans and Asians; linguistic influences between cultures, the interaction between religions, the personal grown of individuals in a cross-cultural setting, information technology crossing the border between fields such as, mathematics, logic, linguistics, psychology, computer technology, operations research, the graphic arts, communications, library science, management. We invite panels and individual papers on these or related topics, but will give full consideration to any proposal within AHLiST’s scope.
Possible topics and areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
1. Submission Guidelines
*All presenters must be members of the Association by conference time.
*Paper submissions should be sent to ahlist1@gmail.com
* Submissions can be in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. All submission should represent original work done by the authors. There will be two options to propose/submit: i) panel proposal ; ii) individual paper.
I. Panel Proposal (Session Proposal with three of more papers):
If you plan to propose a panel/session, please include the title of the panel and the names of presenters; a panel abstract of 150-250 words; a separate page with the names of presenters, their contact information (mailing address, phone number, and email) and institutional affiliation(s), the titles of their presentations; and a 250-word abstract for each paper. Panels will be one hour and fifteen minutes long. Presenters for a panel will be asked to submit their abstract and information separately.
II. Individual Proposal
Each author can use one of the following submissions to propose: a) abstract; b) work-in-progress paper; c) full paper.
a. Abstract: A title and 250 words (double-spaced and 12 fonts)
b. Work-in-progress: A structured proposal of about 1,000 words (double- spaced and 12 fonts) including purpose, methodology/approach, findings, research limitations/implications, and originality/value. A reference list is required. Tables or figures should be placed in the appendix after the reference list if needed.
c. Full Paper: Full paper submissions must not be published, accepted for publication, or be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors should limit their initial submissions to approximately 20-25 doublespaced pages in 12-point font with appropriate margins, inclusive of all materials (i.e., references, figures, tables and appendices). In preparing for the full papers, please reference the author’s guidelines. If full papers are not formatted accordingly, they will not be considered or reviewed by AHLiST.
